Before bringing or mailing in your device for service at Seki Gadgets, please complete the following important steps to backup your personal data and prepare your device for service testing.
Apple (iOS) Device Owners
If your device won’t power on or does not respond, complete as many steps as you can.
Unpair Your Device
If you own an iPhone or iPad that is paired with an Apple Watch, unpair your devices. When you unpair, your iPhone or iPad will create a new backup of your Apple Watch. You can use the backup to restore your Apple Watch when your device returns from service.
Back up your Apple Device
Be sure to include your photos, videos, contacts and emails as well.
Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup > Select All The Items You Wish To Backup > Click Back Up Now.
Turn off iMessage
Go to Settings > Messages and turn off iMessage.
Sign Out of iCloud
Sign out of iCloud and the iTunes & App Store. Go to Settings > [your name] > Scroll down and tap Sign Out. Enter your Apple ID password and click Turn Off.
Erase Your Apple Device
Go to device Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. If asked, enter your passcode and Apple ID password. If you can’t erase your device because it won’t power on or isn’t responding, you can sign into iCloud or the Find My app on another device, select the device, and click Erase. After the device has been erased, click Remove from Account.
Remove any SIM card, protective case, or screen protector from your device and keep your cable and charger.
Android (Google) Device Owners
If your device won’t power on or does not respond, complete as many steps as you can.
Backup your Device Data
Go to device Settings > Additional Settings > Back Up & Restore > New Backup. If asked, allow access to your data.
Back up Your Device to Google
Be sure to login to your Google account and select all the items you wish to backup. Be sure to include your contacts and emails as well.
Go to device Settings > Backup and Restore > Check the Back Up My Data > Select Google Account > Backup By Google One > Back Up Now > Select Option Automatic Restore.
Unpair Your Devices
If you own a device that’s paired with a Smart Watch, unpair your devices.
Disable Find my Device
Go to Settings > Security > Find My Device > Turn Off.
Erase your Device
Go to Settings > Additional Settings > Backup & Reset > Erase All Data. > Erase All Data (includes photos and music). If asked, enter your passcode and Google password. If you can’t erase your device because it won’t power on or isn’t responding, you can erase it directly from Google.
Remove any SIM cards, protective case, or screen protector from your device and keep your cable and charger.
